Bead and Wire Jewelry

Inventing forms in non-solder jewelry, and working with sewn or loomed beads has been a very intriguing and creatively satisfying experience. My experimentation resulted in the book, Bead & Wire Art Jewelry. This page shows the pieces that due to space limitations didn't fit into the book.

Assorted glass beads are sewn to shaped leather to from the front of this necklace. Finished with long fringes and neckpieces of seed beads sewn into tubes with sterling silver bead ends.

Purple glass beads are at the center of a wire worked pin.

The bead "fabric" of this cuff bracelet is sewn of Peyote-stitched seed beads with some larger clear glass beads. Narrow strips are woven through the wider cuff, and edges finished with fringe stitch.

Fringe-stitch seed bead strands and copper coil charms are fastened onto a copper eyelet chain to form this exotic-looking necklace.

Sterling silver accents appear throughout this necklace. The center section is comprised of shaped Jasper drops with an Aventurine pendant. The neckpieces combine seed bead strands with sterling silver beads.

Loom-beaded choker is decorated with sewn-on copper coils, squared shell beads, carnelian pebbles, and seed bead fringe. Finished with leather ends and ties.

Lariat-style necklace with Red Jasper, Flourite, Moss Agate, and silver beads. End pieces are wire worked.

An undrilled stone is wired in hammered silver onto a neckpiece consisting of carnelian bead strands with a center piece of tubular Peyote-stitched seed beads.
