Gil & Marsha in Las Vegas March, 2010

Las Vegas is an interesting if not fascinating place. Gil had a business trip there so Marsha tagged along (otherwise, would she have gone at all? hm-m-m...) curious as to what the visuals might encompass. It's a total wow of a place as far as things to see. If you think it's interesting in the daytime, wait til the lights come on at night. The city truly becomes awash in brilliance.
There was lots of water everywhere in this desert town- waterfalls, pools, canals... even tho Lake Mead is way below its high water mark. Artifice, artificiality, superficiality are some words that worked themselves into our vocab. Even so, we had a pretty good time- shopped haute couture, ate scrumptious Mexican food, partied, walked and gawked.
Requiring some natural habitat to feed our souls we trekked to the western rim of the Grand Canyon and it was awe inspiring. Visited an abandoned guano mine and took a buckboard ride through the desert where we saw a fossilized dinosaur footprint.
